Beautiful Banners

It is no secret that BANNERS are one of my favourite embellishments as they are so much fun to use; however, the thing I love most about them is their versatility; you can make them as simple or as elaborate as you wish- there is NO limit to your creativity! The manner in wish you position them on your page can vary too- straight, swooping across the page, clustered or as a border, connected with thread, twine, ribbon, stitching or brads. You can paint or ink them, embellish them with co-ordinating paper, brads, pen, pearls, rhinestones, glitter, bows, buttons, cut-out shapes such as hearts, stars, butterflies, cogs or even aphabet letters for a page title. Varying the shape is fun too- triangles, pennants, hearts, small tags or a combination of them. A2zscraplets have a selection of three at present; however, Julie has created some awesome new ones to be released soon!!! Scroll down to view them and remember you can visit the website

January Challenge Inspiration

Hello, Belinda again with an Christmas layout to give you some inspiration to try the January Challenge. Thank you to all that have entered, I have loved looking at your layouts.

This is a special layout for me as it has all my 3 girls wearing a Christmas dress that a relation of hubby gave to my oldest girl.

The first was taken in 2007, the 2nd in 2009 and the 3rd in 2011. I was so lucky that each girl fitted into the dress

Now for some close ups.

The title scraplet was 'Magic Of Christmas' but I did not need the 'of' so I have saved it for later.

I just painted the all chipboard in red.

Love the font of these words!!!!

These swirls are from a chipboard that had a heart in the middle. As I am using the heat for something else I used the swirls here

The chipboard I used are:

Remember that you can BUY STRIGHT from the website, with over 1500 scraplets to choose from!!!! How cool is that!!!
And you have to the midnight of the 31st of January to enter the challenge and that you don't have to use chipboard!!!!.  I am looking forward to see your layout

Thanks for looking
Belinda :)

Footprints on my Heart layout

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying the inspirational blogposts at a2z! Today I'd like to share one I did with one of the new release titles: FOOTPRINTS ON MY HEART. I chose this lovely photo of my son and his partner to scrapbook and my aim was to keep it simple but elegant. I used versacolor ink on the title so that it toned in with the colour palette.

Take the time to visit the website as there are a lovely range of new releases that you might want to purchase for your next layouts.

Little Princess and Little Miss

Hello from Belinda, this is my first ever post as DT for A2Z!!!! I am thrilled beyond belief that I am on this team with all the other wonderful ladies!!!!
For you today I have 2 layouts to show, one I have done lots to the chipboard and one that I have let plain. I love the fact that no matter what you do or don't do to the scraplets they still look fab.

I have used 3 scraplets or this layout. All have been painted with gesso first before adding either paint of distress stain.

This butterfly had chipboard on each side which I cut off (and reused one side on this layout). After putting gesso on it I lighty inked it, then put a little embossing powder on it, heat that up and then painted over it.

I just love this title!!!! After gessoing it I lightly put pink distress stain on it. Under the title you can see the chipboard that was part of the butterfly. I used green ink on it to look like leaves

With this scraplet after gessoing it I used light blue paint to paint the heart and dab a bit around the swirls.

The Scraplets I used are

Now for the 2nd layout

Its a simple layout full off colour so I decided to leave the chipboard plain. Also goes with the beach look.

Scraplet I used :

Well that's it from me. Don't forget to enter into the challenge or head over to the website and buy a few scraplets you you to play with

Thanks for looking

Texture Paste & Scraplets

Hi Everyone,
Today I want to share a layout I created for last month it shows how you can use the Tree half Scraplet which you can purchase direct from A2Z Scraplets

My friend took this fabulous photo of her little girl playing amongst the leaves and with all of these beautiful Autumn hues I felt the tree was ideal to add to the page and  I teamed it up with Cheery Lynn Design dies to achieve the look you can see here.

To get the tree to look like wood I swiped Texture Paste on it in sections , I did this randomly and very roughly … then I let it dry.

As you can see from this close up I extended the random texture out to the branches also.Once the Texture paste dried I then mixed various shades of brown with dark and highlight tones. I painted the texture paste and the bare chipboard was left unpainted. Once dry I used my Zig Writer markers to fill in the other colors to give shadows in the places that I did not have texture paste.

I then assembled the layout and added the leaves. I chose varying colors and scattered them down the page as if they were falling off the tree.

The half tree is a definite must to try and is the perfect accompaniment to those Autumn layouts where the leaves are falling…

Have a great week of scrapping
Tracey

Christmas Challenge Inspiration

I hope you are managing to find time to start scrapbooking your Christmas photos for our challenge- I have another one to share with you today. I had a few pieces left over of the Simple Stories collection and so created this layout of my second son, Richard, participating in his Nursery school's nativity play in 1994. I sponge painted the baubles then added some glitter and brads.

Happy scrapping and I am looking forward to seeing your entries!

December Daily

Hey there

Happy new year everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, spent with loved ones and making good memories. I know I certainly did, with it being our baby Lily's first christmas. Not that she has much recollection, as she was only 3 weeks old at Christmas.

Today I want to share a few pages from my December Daily. For those of you who do not know what a December Daily is, it is a mini album created to record the lead up to Christmas, often with a photo or even just journalling, to reflect the activities you did on each day in December. I did my first last year, although it was more of a general December summary. This year I have actually created a page per day, as it seemed important to record Lily's first few weeks in our lives and of course the wonderful lead up to Christmas.

Not the best photo of the cover but as you can see there is an awesome Christmas Scraplet, which was just perfect for this project.

And here are a couple of pages from the start of my December daily... which I actually started in November since I put my christmas tree up a little early in case of an early arrival (Lily came on the 3rd and was due on the 6th).

For my album I used a Theresa Collins mini album kit which made it all quite easy, but you can use any mini album or make your own from scratch. The options are endless and there is so much inspiration for December Daily albums online. So if you haven't already, maybe you will decide to make your own for 2013 :)

Hubby's smile says it all!
I used Simple Stories paper and an a2zscraplet bauble.

I enjoy remembering Christmases when my sons were young so decided to scrapbook one for this challenge......here is our eldest son, Shaun, in his Nursery school nativity play in 1992. Oh my, such a gorgeous shepherd!
